Wilhelmina Ruth Fitzgerald Delco was a housewife during 1966. She ran for the Texas Legislature in 1974 and served in the Texas House of Representatives until 1994. She served as chair of the committee to higher education for 10 of those years.
Her husband, Exalton Delco, graduated from UT-Austin in 1962 with a Doctorate in Zoology. He was Vice President for Academic Affairs at Huston-Tillotson University.
The two were on vacation in Yellowstone National Park on August 1, 1966.
