Jan Klinck was a 22-year-old student in the College of Pharmacy in August of 1966.
He went to Scholz’s Beer Garten after his 8 am class and was there where the Tower shooting began.
“Someone came out and said, ‘Hey, there’s a shooting at UT,'” Klinck says.
He remembers watching the shooting on screens at Scholz’s.
Klinck’s fiancée Sally (now wife) was in McAllen at the time of the shooting and did not know if Klinck was safe until that evening.
