Texas Gov. John Connally requested a case study on Charles J. Whitman. This UT News press release, found in the UT President’s Office Records, announces the beginning of clinical and psychological data collection on Whitman to provide to the Governor. The Robert Lee Sutherland Papers and the Ira Iscoe Papers at the Briscoe Center for American history contain complete reports submitted at the request of Connally. Aug. 9, 1966.
