Kay Bailey Hutchison was a law student at UT-Austin in August of 1966. On the day of the UT Tower shooting she was on campus at the Law School building.
“I’ll never forget it because it was so horrifying,” Bailey Hutchison says. “A person came running through the halls, we were in class, came running through the halls and said, ‘Evacuate the building right now.'”
Bailey Hutchison remembers going outside of the law school with others to see what was going on at the Tower. She recalls seeing shots fired from different sides of the Tower.
